Shirin Keshani School-College for the Deaf


The Deaf School of Ida Rieu is the largest educational & vocational school for the hearing impaired in the country. The school has over 500 hearing impaired children, both male and female are imparted free education and vocational training. Education is provided through Sign Language and visual aids.

Besides academic training, deaf students are provided an extensive range of vocational training. Our arts and crafts section is quite impressive and the products prepared by our students are regularly exhibited at various venues.

In addition, the needy and deserving students are also provided hearing aids free of cost. Prior to admission, every student undergoes a free examination/test by a qualified audiologist/doctor to determine the extent of impairment.
